Course Discontinuations and Replacements

Our catalog is constantly changing, but that’s a good thing! Read below about how you can supplement the following soon to-be-discontinued courses to better serve your students:

Fundamentals Courses

The following courses will be discontinued on November 14, 2018:

  • Introduction to Dreamweaver CS6 (id6)
  • Intermediate Dreamweaver CS6 (nd6)
  • Introduction to Windows 8 (w8i) 

These courses will be discontinued and removed from partner catalog due to low enrollments and outdated content. While there are no exact alternatives for our Dreamweaver CS6 titles, we encourage you to direct students to Introductions to Windows 10 in lieu of our Windows 8 title.

Advanced Career Training Courses

The following course will be discontinued on February 5, 2019:

  • Certified National Pharmaceutical Representative (GES106)

This course is being retired due to outdated course content. GES106 will be replaced with an updated pharmaceutical sales representative title that leads to nationally-recognized certification. More information about the replacement course can be found here: Upcoming Product Launches.


What Partners Need to Do:

You do not need to take any action as the discontinued courses will be removed from your catalog automatically on the above-mentioned date. If you are not already offering the suggested alternative courses, they are currently available in the course catalog.

If you plan to replace these Advanced Career Training titles on the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL), you should apply for approval as soon as possible. For more information, please contact your account manager.

What Enrolled Students Need to Do:

Students currently enrolled in these courses will able to finish the course with no change to the curriculum.

The following bookkeeping course bundles will be added to the catalog on October 2, 2019:


Professional Bookkeeping with QuickBooks 2018 with Payroll Practice and Management

Professional Bookkeeping with QuickBooks 2018 with Payroll Practice and Management covers all critical areas of payroll administration and management. Whether students are interested in starting a career in payroll or are an experienced professional seeking a certification, this bundle will prepare them for the American Payroll Association’s Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exam. This bundle does not come with QuickBooks 2018, so it is the better option for students with previous access to the software.

Professional Bookkeeping with QuickBooks 2018 with Payroll Practice and Management (Software Included)

Professional Bookkeeping with QuickBooks 2018 with Payroll Practice and Management (Software Included) is ideal for students who do not have previous access to 2018 software but want to take the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exam or start a career in payroll accounting. The cost of the software is factored into the bundle price, so students can access QuickBooks 2018 at wholesale. Upon completion, students will be able to sit for the American Payroll Association’s Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exam.

The following pharmaceutical sales course bundle will be added to the catalog on October 9, 2019:

Students will become well-versed in the rules, regulations, and best practices of promoting prescription drugs. They will also learn key medical terms, making them an asset to any pharmaceutical sales team. Upon successfully completing this course bundle, students will receive an industry-recognized Pharmaceutical Representative Certification (PRC).

What do you need to do:

If you’ve elected to auto-add new titles to your catalog, then no further action is required. You can start promoting these courses immediately. Otherwise, you will need to add them manually in the online administration center. Product Launches: New Self-Paced Tutorial Courses

Students have busy lives, so they need flexible learning options that fit their schedule. In August 2018, we rolled out our Self-Paced Tutorials (SPT) courses to give students more control of their learning environment. SPT courses let students work through the course material on their own time, at their own pace.

We added 48 more SPT titles to the catalog, all of which correspond to an existing instructor-led Fundamentals course.

When a student wants to enroll in the Fundamentals titles listed below, they can now choose between two learning modalities — self-paced or instructor-led:

Course Discontinuations and Replacements

A changing job market means up-to-date knowledge and industry-recognized credentials have higher value. To prepare your students for a career, we regularly retire and replace courses. The following courses will be retired, so we recommend directing your students to these titles instead:

Fundamentals courses discontinued on August 29, 2018:

  • Photoshop Elements 12 for the Digital Photographer (p21) and Photoshop Elements 12 for the Digital Photographer II (p22) will be retired due to outdated curriculum and low enrollment. However, our Photoshop Elements for the Digital Photographer (p31) is continually updated and would be the better option for students interested in learning photo editing skills.
  • Mac, iPhone, and iPad Programming (mip) will be retired due to outdated course content and low enrollment.

Advanced Career Training courses discontinued on September 7, 2018:

  • Certified SAS Base Programmer Certification Training (GES391) and Apache Cassandra Training (GES380) will both be cancelled due to outdated curriculum. Our Oracle SQL and PL/SQL Developer (GES 336) course is an ideal alternative for students looking to master database software and build their professional profile.
  • CTFL Certification Training (GES389) will be discontinued due to outdated content. While there are no exact alternatives for this course, we encourage you to browse other career training courses.

Advanced Career Training course revisions on July 31, 2018*:

  • Advanced Hospital Coding and CCS Prep (Voucher Included) (GES104) will include the CCS certification examination voucher and course hours will increase from 80 to 100. There is no price increase for this course.

If you are not already offering these suggested courses, they are currently available in the course catalog. If you plan to replace the Advanced Career Training titles on the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL), you should apply for approval as soon as possible. If you need more information, please contact your account manager.

*We previously communicated Advanced Hospital Coding and CCS Prep (Voucher Included) (GES104) course revisions would come into effect on September 11, 2018. Due to an expedited revision process, this course will now be available on July 31, 2018.

Our Certified Quality Auditor and Certified Quality Engineer courses provide comprehensive training for an internationally-recognized certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ).

Certified Quality Auditor

Manufacturing businesses are required to comply with regulation and a quality auditor ensures they meet a standard of excellence. ed2go Price Increase Reminder

We are sending this message as a friendly reminder that the wholesale price of our instructor-led course will be increasing soon.

Effective February 1, 2018, course that currently have a wholesale price of $65 will have a new increased wholesale price of $75. Our new suggested retail price (SRP) for these courses will be raised from $100 to $115. The net effect of the pricing change will increase your revenue by $5 per enrollment.

You may have already noticed that we have updated the Online Administration Center (OAC) to display the new pricing. This can be view in the catalog tab within the OAC.

Enrollments beginning with the February 14th session will be billed at the new wholesale price.

Note: the suggested retail prices are only recommendations. You may adjust your pricing to align with your institution’s objectives. Discontinued Instructor-Led Courses

Course Discontinuation

As you may know from a recent announcement about platform enhancements, we have migrated our courses and programs to a new learning management system. The new platform enhances the student learning experience by offering students greater visibility of their own course progression and by presenting the course content in responsive design, which allows students to access their course from any mobile device.

Now that we have completed the migration, there are several courses that will be retired due to low demand. The following course will be discontinued on December 10, 2017:

  • An Introduction to Teaching ESL/EFL
  • Practical Ideas for the Adult ESL/EFL Classroom

IMPORTANT: Pricing Adjustments and Platform Enhancement

ed2go has officially upgraded and enhanced our courses and platform to transform the way we deliver content, engage learners and drive successful student outcomes. As our valued partner, you and your students will have immediate access to some of these new features and functionality.

Our new platform already offers key enhancements like; responsive design to enable learning on smart devices, improved look and feel for better user experience, easier course navigation, and more. Additional updates will be made in the coming months. 

We continue to invest heavily in the development of the platform across all ed2go offerings, and we will be adjusting our pricing to more accurately reflect the value students receive from advancing their education through our partner schools with these added enhancements.

Effective February 1, 2018, your wholesale price on many of our Instructor-Led Courses will be increased from $65 to $75, and the new suggested retail price will be raised from $100 to $115.  The net effect of the pricing change will increase your revenue by $5 per enrollment.  In addition to helping deliver increased revenues, this price change will also help drive continued investment in our products and platforms to further benefit you and your students.
